pebble magazine
pebble magazine
From 2016-2023, pebble was the UK's most popular sustainable living magazine, founded by Georgina Wilson-Powell. It delivered intelligent, positive planet-focused news, reviews, features and investigative pieces to millions of readers a year, cut through the greenwash and helped many to swap to more sustainable solutions.
Ripples
In 2022, pebble launched an online community called Ripples (on Mighty Networks) which attracted thousands of members from all over the world all keen to do more than just read and scroll. It hosted book clubs, weekly check ins, lunch n' learn sessions with experts and more. The highly engaged members were well educated on sustainable issues, often experts in their field and wanted to help others change the world.
Travel guides
In 2018 pebble launched a series of web-app travel guides for secondary cities in the UK, focusing on sustainable shopping, vegan restaurants and nature based things to do.
pebblefest
In 2019 pebble magazine launched two large scale, profit making eco-festivals in London, under the pebblefest banner. Both welcomed thousands of conscious consumers to a powerful mix of talks, workshops and a huge ethical market, all programmed by Georgina, around the theme of everyday activism.
Futurefest
In the midst of the pandemic, pebble created FutureFest - a three day online, multi-stage festival, that focused on climate solutions for the future, curated by Georgina. As well as a packed talks programme including headliner Lily Cole and interactive workshops, the festival recorded 12 live green podcasts, in front of a Zoom audience. A live illustrator captured the online energy and the festival attracted over 500 paying attendees.
Books
Through her work at pebble, Georgina has written 3 books on sustainable living for DK Books and Harper Collins.

I’ve been reading and loving Pebble Magazine for some time now. I love the fact that the magazine is so unique, uplifting, and focused on creating an impact through positivity! It’s hugely impacted my life and the way I view ‘sustainable living’, taking away any taboos or overwhelm, for that I’m eternally grateful!
Ella
What a totally brilliant thing Future Fest was this weekend. Such great speakers and so well put together.

Managing to delight, invite, demonstrate, suggest and surprise, the festival seems to combine the low key human scale of a local fair with some serious big ideas. From the eco committed to the eco cynical, the Pebblefest folk have created a way to invite great conversations. May it thrive!
